Description:

"Amazon Skulls is based on a game that was reportedly played by the members of an ancient Brazilian tribe. In this game each player takes their turn playing a skull down on the playing board.
The skull must be placed on the grid so that it borders the last skull played but not any other.
As the game progresses, a line of skulls develops. The winner is the one who makes the last valid move.
In the original game, the loser was required to donate his head to the collection of playing pieces. If Amazon Skulls is a bit harsh for you, it is rumored that there existed a jollier neighboring tribe who played their own variation of the game, called Amazon Happy Faces.Although history has not recoded the penalty for losing at Amazon Happy Faces, local legends suggest that it involved smiling for long periods of time and may have been regarded as worse than that of Amazon Skulls. This game is based on a description given by Clifford Pickover in his excellent book Computers and the Imagination."
